I didn't click at the time, when my eyes made contact with the bus driver, but he didn't seem pleased to see me.I had checked the indicators and tried to get a hint of what he was going to do.

Thinking about this at work I think we have met before, when he passed too close on the same stretch and I had a go at him.Yesterday I just couldn't be bothered.

This bus is plastered all over google.

Personally I would not have filtered dow the left in that situation, not enough room in front of the bus for my liking. Yes I know he wasn't indicating but still puts you in an awkward spot if he does something unexpected.

Better to positition yourself directly in front of him, fliter down the right or hang back?

Yes... and no

It depends, this should have been "safe" if the bus had not been on the ASL.

Transposing this to a junction I use daily, I know the light sequence. If traffic was turning across from the opposite direction, moving from the road on the left then I would have passed to the ASL, but if traffic was moving from teh adjacent slip road, then I would wait.

Having said all that in this case the cyclist was ahead of the bus which the chose to overtake on the junction. The stupidity of the driver is breathtaking

I think that is a difficult one that I probably underestimated although I haven't had a prob there before...apart from when the chain broke and I fell off.

It's difficult to call what to do in that situation. I was going to say your position should have been better, you should have waited behind etc.. etc... But I'm sure that I could have easily done the same as you.

Any vehicle turning at a junction should be indicating whilst they are stationary and they should check for cyclists before pulling away. In the end, his driving was extremely poor and dangerous.

Thanks for constructive comments, nobody wants this sort of thing to happen and that road is notorious for lorries.

If that had been a lorry I would have been in a lot of trouble pulling that trick.

The coach was well over the ASL at the lights. For me, I would always go in front of the coach (even if this is in the pedestrian crossing area). Otherwise the driver cannot see you and be reminded that he's sitting where you should be... That's my natural operating mode throughout central London.

The worst cars are the ones that start to creep over the ASL... but I always try to plant my bike slap bang in the middle of the ASL at the lights to stop this happening.

Bus driver saw me unless he has glass eyes (we had eye contact),when I was being irrational at work after the incident lots of thoughts went through my mind,as I reckon I have had a run in with this driver before, just it was they way he was looking at me,but obviously I forgot,no man is an island and all that stuff,I actually thought he had done it deliberately with intent(originally),but if he really wanted to harm me im sure he could have done so.

I looked at his indicators also.Car behind was indicating...(BT van?)

I have rear cam footage, may get that up but have new video editing software and working out how it works.

Lets get this straight - when filtering with large vehicles who are near the front of a queue of traffic:

If you are confident you will be in front of the large vehicle before a change of lights - if the large vehicle, or potentially another vehicle or 2 are in front of the large vehicle, you get in front of them so they can see you in their line of sight, regardless of whether that puts you across a stop line or not.

Self preservation first, rules second.
