Tacx Sirius turbo trainer query

Was using the turbo trainer on my old road bike which got stolen. Have wheeled it out today to check the fit of my new bike and the 'newish' commuter I have now. They've both got 700cc wheels but for some reason they're both not seated correctly onto the turbo trainer.

Any suggestions -bit puzzled by this.
