sodding typical warmest morning of the week so far have had to drive in due to work grrr
Quite a bit milder this morning, ditched the pogies as they were too hot last night. So just the three pairs of gloves!
Must've been some accident on the M1 last night and traffic was backed up on the dual carriageway.
Cars were edging forward and one in particular was pinching me up against the kerb, then moving away from me, then pinching me against kerb again. Lanes were plenty wide as this was a dual-carriageway, so I had a look at the driver to see what he was up to - he was too busy messing about on his phone (possibly planning his new route). I tapped on his window to let him know he was squeezing me up to the kerb and he tells me to f-off. Charming, "C.U. Next Tuesday" I said as I went past him.
I see this quite a lot on my SE Londinium commuteInteresting psychology: 8 cyclists stopped at a red light (inc me). Someone rides up from behind and jumps the lights. Two of those who'd been waiting peel out of the queue and follow the jumper.
You can spot these a long way off, one reason I filter on the outside as much as possible. They'll get surprised by an overtaking motorbike and crush you against the kerb in an instant. A helmet camera makes for a high-quality police report to discourage them from this habit with 6 points and a fine.
Fine cycling. Still dry and cool.

This morning I had a teenage boy ask me "Can I have your bike?" as I went passed. Obviously not but I wonder how he would have reacted if I'd stopped and said okay and tried to hand it to him?![]()
