That's terrible. I've been on the TPT (section from Chesterfield to Sheffield admittedly, not Wombwell), but I didn't think it was open to motorised traffic. They must've brought all that sh!t on a van presumably.

Late finish last night so didn't get home till gone seven pm. Nippy this morning. Decent ride despite feeling knackered. Been avoiding covid at home as we've MrsF and daughter coughing and spluttering, so I'm shattered.
At least you are awake when you get to work, not like driving or public transport.

M60 closed on western side, clockwise (Sale). This has lead to many of my colleagues being over an hour late for work. Lots of complaining about traffic etc. etc. Smug mode on !

200m further up the track there's a road and barriers either side, one side on that stretch has an opening which you can get a van/4x4 over. Looks like they did two trips the scruffy gits, all cleared up now.

First day back on bike after work enforced two day lay off, had winter gear on as was in London yesterday an felt chilly as per usual read weather wrong and was to hot, ten years of cycling and hardly ever get it right unless its freezing. Boil in the bag jacket over warmig nicely I managed to get in slow time again not sure why when its darker in the mornings I seem to ride in slower. Usual mix of Knobheads and pricks this morning, cars revining up all becuase I am riding centre of road so i dont get doored. Van driver at lights decided to bib me up and stick two fingers up nice one runt.

Coming home i was behind a e mtb , looked like a legal one but who knows 
Any-road i was about to overtake when the rider pulls right across the lane without looking before a half hearted indication of intent to turn into a side road after the fact so i have to swerve to the inside so i dont cause a pile up and shout " look before you pull out " as i pass .
I hear a few insults being hurled and i guess he decides to try and give chase as the insults continue but i think he realises he aint catching me on the flat as im tootling around 21 mph and a legal heavy e hardtail is not going that sort of pace

Today's observation of the day is that there appears to be new rules for traffic lights for motorists - none of this squeezing through the lights as they change - being an amber gambler is considered old hat. Now it seems that as long as you say the light other than on a solid red, you just carry on, even if its been red for seconds by the time you get to the stop line.
Being a cyclist means for most people not stopping or even slowing down or looking at red lights. Pedestrians on crossings forced to jump out of your way etc

Well, that was more eventful than usual.
Mottram St Andrew, village en route, was closed by police due to WWII UXB! Unfortunately, they only closed the road at the centre, so that meant over a mile retrace to the next cut through, which happened to be one of the 100 climbs https://cyclinguphill.com/100-climbs/swiss-hill/
Lungs busted, rolled in the next few miles, only to suffer an outrageously close pass approaching some lights, for no reason at all. Managed a very polite request to take more care in future after knocking on miscreants window when I immediately caught him up. I suspect his polite response was helped by his daughter being in the passenger seat.
