Illegal ones? Previously them and scooter have been lit up but it seems like ever since the police announced they were clamping down on them they've been blacked out!

the same way they all wear balaclavas and hoodies because theyre really cold ?

because that will attract less attention

Finally, a decent ride in this morning having spent a good chunk of yesterday's working day / evening addressing the fallout from previous days failures..

The Fuji now has a new Delta Cruiser on the front, the one previously fitted to that end of the bike now moved on the rear. The departed rear tyre (original-fit Vera Citywide) had done very well - covering nearly 800 miles on the front and over 5k miles on the rear in my ownership, on top of however far it had travelled on the front during the previous owner's tenure. I certainly can't complain about the service it's given; I just wish it'd actually worn out before the sidewall failed... which seems to be a pretty common mode of tyre-death.

Cold and misty this morning but there was also a pretty nice sunrise.. managed to both get into town for meaty provisions and to work on time for the first time this week; thankfully with no more bloody punctures.

As much as I value the Routier that somewhat got me out of the shoot yesterday, I was very glad to be back on the Fuji with its more comfortable saddle and bar tape, better-appointed luggage, wider & better-spaced gear range, more accessible shifters..

Not much opportunity to ride my usual route this week, chiefly as it'll be flooded this evening for a day or two. But the skies were stunning. Rainbow in the west and red clouds in the east.

One idiot driver overtaking and forcing the oncomer to halt, one close pass, otherwise a lovely ride.

Due to lash down today but I got into work in the dry.

Most of my usual routes home from today's office location involve a stretch which is prone to deep flooding, so I might have to "enjoy" a bit of busy, fast country B-road on the way home. Lights will be fully charged, reflectives cleaned, what more can we do ?!

Legs better this morning but looks like I will be finishing just as the heavy rain is coming over so I have bought the full rain gear for later.
Just had a review of my health at work and couldn't believe I regularly do a 20 mike round trip in the bike .

Absolutely biblical , i got soaked to the skin even with the full kit on and hit the deck after riding through a big puddle that must have some mud in that had washed off the verge so i suddenly lost control even though i was in a straight line and landed hard on my left shoulder .Covered in mud which thankfully had washed off by the time i got home .
Couple of co-codamol to numb the pain and a hot shower !

Id kind of committed to riding in today regardless of the weather, final commute of the year, woohoo, but still wasnt too impressed to see the rain forecast when I woke up but actually the rain had already passed, so whilst the roads were very wet, it was actually dry, almost pleasant, even if I had to navigate around the usual impatient driving idiots.

then it chucked it down all day, which was fine as I wasnt getting wet in the office, my bike not so lucky maybe the wind was blowing in a different direction or theres a new leak in the roof. Anyway by home time it was barely light drizzle again, though my forecast app was convincing me it was going to bucket it down any minute and when its dark you cant judge the clouds so well, so I got my boil in the bag coat on just in case..

which clearly did the rain gods trick, as it stopped raining completely, and the only reason I was getting covered in water, was said boil in the bag coat, and the crazy wind, head on it felt like I was riding through treacle.

time for a rest, and maybe clean the work bike, but probably a job for the new year :becool:
