Heated gloves over thin Sealskin liners, balaclava with buff over, long sleeved vest, winter jersey and winter shell, Sealskin socks in winter boots, Schwalbe Winter studded tyres etc.

And I still picked the shorter boring way into work chiefly because whenever it's icy, someone seems to stack their car into a hedge on the beautiful back lanes and I don't want to be in the way when they do so.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Got up and looked out , covering of thin but frozen snow so sod that , this weather I need a MTB with studded tyres.
I can't risk having another bad fall that leads to time off after that last few years. Car was reading - 5 c .

Yep, on my 240 stud Gravdals, there's a world of grip difference between inflating them to ~60PSI and sticking to 30-40PSI (not sure I'd risk 30 these days at ~96Kg kitted up for cold).

Slight over pressure might have been my downfall last year, but I was on older Snow Studs with 100 'edge' studs that were not as 'proud' as they used to be. Changed them to Marathon Winter Plus with 200 studs, but I'll hold off now when it's like it is currently - it was like this last year when I came off - ice under snow, and the main road was just black ice - looked fine, but wasn't. No issue with grip on the bridleway.

Morning commute feat. Two base layers, fleecy top, shell, two buffs, thick tights, waterproof socks, overshoes, pogies, thick gloves, heated liner gloves. There was a cyclist under there somewhere too!

Got to ask you, which heated gloves have you got? Would you recommend them?

A balmy -7° this morning. What a welcome back to work. Took it easy as the roads and paths were frosty until I got into Bristol. Once in the city, the temp rose to -5°, but the roads (well the A4) were gritted

Not sure on the temperature in sunny Barnsley this morning but was bloody cold! Covering the quality testers job till further notice so a few extra miles through the week. Nice pit memorial round the corner from the testing place.
