My debut post. Commute a 22 mile round trip across the East Dorset conurbation 5 days a week. At this time of year this includes a few miles along the promenade and this morning featured a dip in the sea at the much hyped (but nevertheless still beautiful) Sandbanks before I clocked on.

Some drivers still squeeze past when I'm displaying the Passpixi. This one was within touching distance. Luckily for him my D-lock was secured rather than in my right hand.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Yesterdays commute into work was at 1.30 pm so red hot so i had to hang my kit on the outside of the locker door in the changing rooms otherwise it would still have been still damp with sweat when i came home .Return trip was just after midnight and it was still in the mid twenties which felt cool .

I got in last night and thought it was nice and cool, then I looked at the thermostat, 27.5deg C. My garmin says it was an average of 35deg C on last nights commute !

woke up to rain this morning for some reason was up at 4am, looked like it was in for the day. Normal Monday for me spend the weekend looking forward to commute into work on Monday only to have the rug pulled away. Didnt realise how muggy it was this morning so piled on the power was thundering into work only to hit a temporary traffic light. Same road is same bit now on its fourth or fifith set of temporary traffic lights this year, well done. Got work didnt realise how hot I had got. Covered in sweat - nice work lol.

Yeah cloudy here, rain due at lunchtime, but still very muggy and warm, just not as bad as it was.
Had someone with a very loud chainset (campag?) sitting on my tail, couldn't quite drop him, but they didn't have the willingness to take a turn in front either. Didn't help with the sweat levels!

I find (safely) braking to walking pace generally solves that problem: they'll assume I've stopped and b*gg*r off.

Still lovely and warm, such a pleasure just to be in shortsleeves and mitts in the morning.

Roads at summer levels of traffic, but seemed to be more than average impatient overtakers around.

Did a PB up a hill (of nearly 500 recorded efforts)!

That looks scary. Will you be reporting the driver?

started cycling into work this time last year as got fed up with petrol bill every month eating into my wages, this time last year an average speed of 14.2mph was a good speed over 10 miles this last week have managed to average 15.4 or above theree days on trott taken long enough ;). Nicce sunny silgithy colder start a few idiots on the road almost ploughed in one of the walkers to busy reading mobile phone to even think about looking up and road safety apart from that normal nobbery of south london traffic which to be fair last few week has been very quiet. Schools havent even broken up round here yet and everyone seems to have dissappeared for the summer.
