You can spot these a long way off, one reason I filter on the outside as much as possible. They'll get surprised by an overtaking motorbike and crush you against the kerb in an instant. A helmet camera makes for a high-quality police report to discourage them from this habit with 6 points and a fine.

I was tempted to filter on the outside, but the other lane was relative fast moving - I didn't feel safe doing that. The crawling left lane was traffic heading for the motorway I guess.

Fine cycling. Still dry and cool.

Interesting psychology: 8 cyclists stopped at a red light (inc me). Someone rides up from behind and jumps the lights. Two of those who'd been waiting peel out of the queue and follow the jumper.

It's the "if they can do it" mentality. Like those drivers in a queue who see one vehicle suddenly use the hard shoulder to queue jump (usually an Audi or Range Rover), then follow suit.

3 spokes snapped just down the road from work great start to the day! Fly tipping on the TPT Wombwell on the way back, scruffy tramps.

That's terrible. I've been on the TPT (section from Chesterfield to Sheffield admittedly, not Wombwell), but I didn't think it was open to motorised traffic. They must've brought all that sh!t on a van presumably.

Late finish last night so didn't get home till gone seven pm. Nippy this morning. Decent ride despite feeling knackered. Been avoiding covid at home as we've MrsF and daughter coughing and spluttering, so I'm shattered.

At least you are awake when you get to work, not like driving or public transport.

200m further up the track there's a road and barriers either side, one side on that stretch has an opening which you can get a van/4x4 over. Looks like they did two trips the scruffy gits, all cleared up now.

Brrrrr!

Leeds commute.

Glad of the long sleeved jacket this morning, felt a lot colder than it was. I'm sure walking around I'd have been fine in short sleeves still but really felt a chill when riding.

Whitehall Road cycle route has nearly met up with the existing section, I'm still not sure what will happen over the canal bridge, wether there will be a section there or not. Also travelling out of Leeds there is no obvious way to cross over yet, use a pedestrian crossing I guess?

On the way home I went the long way and had a look at the Dawson's Corner upgrade that's started, it's going to be a huge amount of work so I'll think I'll stop by fairly regularly to check it out.

Lastly I was working off site today, and the off site had no cycle parking. So I had to ride past the site and up to work to park, then walk back down. I was still first one in though lol.

First day back on bike after work enforced two day lay off, had winter gear on as was in London yesterday an felt chilly as per usual read weather wrong and was to hot, ten years of cycling and hardly ever get it right unless its freezing. Boil in the bag jacket over warmig nicely I managed to get in slow time again not sure why when its darker in the mornings I seem to ride in slower. Usual mix of Knobheads and pricks this morning, cars revining up all becuase I am riding centre of road so i dont get doored. Van driver at lights decided to bib me up and stick two fingers up nice one runt.
