As long as I breathe, I attack.
Really tough last night with a strong headwind and pissing it down so i changed my route home as otherwise i would be against the weather and the traffic along the cyclepath with lorries spraying me .
By the time i got halfway home the rain had stopped so i stripped off the wet weather gear in the middle of a pitch black unlit lane as i was cooking then continued against the wind .
I will need to change the tyres as i got a second puncture on the way to work yesterday with what looks like another piece of beer bottle glass so big i yanked it out easily .

Change of scenario today. Instead of a commute round East London or into Central London, I took a little venture to the seaside for my commute

The joys of flexible working

I've got away with working from home the last two weeks but I'm in the office today, what a difference in lighting levels in the last few weeks. The drizzle made it extra gloomy. I'm glad I strapped on my front light last night. It was a bit busier too, probably all the fair weather and light commuter's back in their cars.

A bit of an annoyance but my route with a good tail wind doesn't necessitate it, my Varia wasn't detecting cars only it's light was working. 5 mins down the road I realised why. The Garmin 130+ had been off for a few weeks so I left before a radar and ant+ fix. Sure enough when I stopped the ride at the station and saved it, the ant+ sensors were detected.

Oh and I set everything out last night for a quick get away, apart from socks 🤦‍♂️ Thankfully the pair on the clothes rack were dry so I didn't have to spend anytime routing around for them.

Oh and I'll want the radar at night to turn right on the urban dual carriageway that is London Road. The configuration of the traffic lights mean I have to slot in early to the outside lane and folk will be trying to overtake at speed, so its good to have a situational awareness of what is there without having to constantly turn round until my actual manoeuvre.

Oh, headless one; would you mind explaining this system for those of us - me - who never have to need such things?

Nothing complicated really but when the garmin has been switched off for a while it takes a wee bit longer to find satellites and ant+ broadcasts (such as the radar) and I started the ride before it did so. So for the ride they weren't there, but they're there for the next ride.

Bit of a bizarre one tonight. I took off my bibs, knee warmers and chest strap this morning and hung them up to dry in the shower room (something I've done hundreds of times before). However, despite the shower room being behind several security doors, hardly anyone being in the building and CCTV being present, they were gone tonight. I talked to security, who talked to cleaners and apparently no one knows anything. Security also tells me that a review of the CCTV wouldn't be sanctioned for what they consider is trivial. The only positive usually my jacket is in there too with my pump and sometimes my housekeys if I forget to take them out of my jacket pocket. However, incase I went out at lunchtime I took the jacket 🤔

What’s the point of having CCTV as security in that area, if having personal items going missing is not serious enough. Or is it there to catch staff having dodgy relationships in the shower.🤣
I’d be having a word with my boss and or the head of security.

I'll hopefully see our head of service next week who is a keen cyclist.

I wonder or doubt very much if there are cameras in shower rooms these days. Far too many peeping lechers about, and often they are the security bods. If the boss is a cyclist, is it worth asking for a separate drying room away from the showers?
