Without meaning any disrespect to HLaB, I’m gobsmacked that anyone would want to nick a pair of just-worn bibs.

Maybe that’s why the CCTV was in stalled to catch people with a fetish for still warm used intimate sports wear.🫣

The were pretty new and only seen 20 mins cycling and 45min sitting since their last wash but Id be surprised too. I suspected a cleaner had just thought they were rubbish or something and picked them up by mistake, but apparently they hadn't even got to the shower room yet. This room hasn't got drying racks like the bigger shower room though so thing are just hung up on hooks. The smaller room is closer to my team area and there's 5 to 1 desk at my office if everyone is in but perhaps after a year + I'll have to change my habits 🤔

Monday morning found out friday guy who sits opposite has coivd will have to get tested but starting to feel bunged up and juding by office clothes I picked out this morning I have also lost all sense of taste. Usual twats on the road bin lorry parked up obsucting on coming traffic just breeze through like I dont exist, idiot reversing out from drive way just carry on reversing despite on coming traffic. Seemed quietier on roads today after last week its a welcome relief. Feeling bunged up so not at my fastest plus the feeling of winter round the corner. Not looking forward to clocks going back at the end of the month.

Despite still feeling decidely lacklusture I left on time; out into another gorgeous bright if chilly morning. Thought I might have overdone the layers but this worry was dispelled after getting up to speed and confirming that the wind chill was significant.

A quick run into town; traffic was nearing gridlock as usual but light work was made of it through judicial use of the opposite carriageway.

Got overtaken by a muppet in a council flatbed towing something large on a trailor; no skin off my nose as he passed wide - although his poor judgement meant an oncoming car had to brake to a complete halt. I shared a look of bemusement with the driver; who displayed more restraint than me as I'd have been all over the horn.

By the time I'd reached the butchers I'd warmed up so the fleece was dispensed with while I waited for three of the good stuff - which were above par today.

Back out again along the tow path in the glorious morning sun, and upon greeting a fellow cyclist ahead (who was weaving all over the place) with a cheery double-ding of my bell, I was met as I passed with (in the univeral crackhead dialect) "faaaaaaacking ell mate, I'm not your faaaaaaaacking servent" - to which I replied quite loudly "it's a courtesy, you gobby ****".

Judging by his local-newspaper-compo-face an oncoming pedestrian was less pleased with my response than I was; his faux outrage met with a cheery "morning" as I passed.. Perhaps he thought "thick" would have been better than "gobby", as I mused during the rest of the journey - oh well... 7/10 - will try harder in future.

Beyond that not a lot to report; irritable dickheads notwithstanding another nice ride and despite the fact it's been the norm for the past six months the novelty of this lifestyle isn't lost on me and I remain eternally thankful that I no longer have to endure any more car-based misery

After a succession of weekends away means cleaning the bike hasn't been on it's usual schedule. Finally managed to get it done, makes such a difference to the ride! One fallen tree on the 'loop, but all the small stuff had been cleared away so it was easily passed. Lots of debris around to muck up my nice clean bike :-( And then on the road section picked up a campag rider (very noisy chainset) who was going quite quick, so made the most of the bike feeling up for it too.

I really must learn where the emergency engine stop button is on this model.

Oh the joys of living on a new build estate, the direct path out which has been open since day one and will be in the future has been barriered up for resurfacing for the last few weeks. I thought it was open today now the resurfacing is complete, but the thin wire fence was still up. A bit brighter today at least as the skies were clearer and it was a good tailwind. Oh and I won't be hanging up my bibs in the shower room today either.

Just remembered I passed a fat tired e bike this morning and I think me travelling fast 'caused' a driver who was overtaking us to misjudge the gap and he was a bit close for liking.

No commute into work for me today thanks to work, had to comment on last nights commute lovely sunny cycle home shorts and tshirt in Ocotober and almost a sunset stunning last night forgotten the shear pleasure of riding home in contrast to this monring stuck in traffic in a car cutting each other up. Who would ever want to drive its insane.
