I'm probably teaching you to suck eggs here, but just make sure your wheel's fitted correctly in the dropouts before making any brake adjustments.

puncture fixed and the tube is now a spare , new tyre put on although the old one has plenty of tread the sidewalls were starting to crack .
I had to do a proper reset on the brake by loosening the brake bolts to recentre the caliper then lubed the chain , the bike could do with a full deep clean but that will have to wait till the weekend .

Bailed, took the van. Icy at home, car frozen and road very slippy. Live to fight another day. Not wrecking my year with an accident.

yep havent ridden in this year yet due to the ice, though driving in has been proving to me why I do ride, there had been a crash and one of the local roads was closed today, so all manner of queues had built up in unusual places, and I was sitting behind this car in a queue inching forward every so often, and was wondering if Id make my first meeting of the morning., and saw the queue in front of this car had moved off, but nothing happens in the car in front, the gap gets to 10metres, still nothing happens, 20 metres getting a bit odd now, like Im not a you must never leave more than an inch between cars in a queue kind of driver, but you could fit 4 cars in this gap by now easily, 30 metres, wondering now if theyd had some medical incident as they seem kind of leant over forward in the car, 40 metres, ok theyve got 10 more secs before I take action, 50 metres....beepity,beep, clearly see the driver visibly raises head to look up, sticks thumb out of the window and quickly rejoins the queue.

hmm I do possibly wonder what that driver had been upto...📵

Damp and no ice so ride. Slightly different route this morning as its less 'filthy' and doesn't dip into the local country park where the temperatures could be enough for ice. More or less the evening ride home route.

Last night was hard work as were still getting hammered for overtime , didn’t finish till 12.30 am and into the cold wind all the way home so tired and hungry then up early this morning as i had a doctors appointment for 8.30

I thought for a moment I'd forgot my boxer shorts in my bag. And thought I'd have to put my work trousers on ontop of the bib longs. Just as I was doing so I remembered where I'd packed the boxer shorts.

I have actually forgotten the boxer shorts in the past but that was over 7 years ago when I had a chronic iron deficiency that made me forget things. Touchwood, I never have once since I got that sorted out.

I forget stuff all the time. I keep spare pants at work, usually I have a spare shirt also! (I had to use it a while ago and didn't immediately replace it).

What the hell was wrong with Leeds traffic today? Gelderd Road was a car park. Had to take car today and sat there wishing I could have gone on the bike. Also deeply regretted the choice of route, but seemed like a good idea at the time!

Car day, it's piddling it down and my thumb joints are aching plus were probably going to get hammered for overtime again
