London must have done a deal with those thieving Northerners - we got our sun back today, but the warmth was not returned.
Lovely commute until near the end when 2 sets of roadworks near 2 schhols resulted in ridiculous driving, Green traffic light means floor it through roadworks ignoring the fact there are hundreds of children around.
roadworks delayed you, no worries, just turn left from right hand lane, ignore giveway lines and pull out into traffic forcing the vehicles on main road to stop suddenly.

It wouldn't be so bad, but the frivers I saw doing these actions all had their own children in cars.

clearly they do not link motor vehicles with children being knocked down
anyway, forunately for me, I observed all this and was not involved and had a great ride. My fastest of the week

Thankful for dry roads and clear skies, I went to wipe & relube the chain on my Giant Contend commuter this morning and realised that the BB (which I have been intending to replace for about a week) is utterly borked with a good 5mm of wobbly movement/slack.

This is probably due to the excessively watery crappy roads I have to ride on. It's had a hard winter, although I have always tried to keep the drivetrain clean.

So my Giant TCR came out for the first time this year.

No time to fit the mudguards so it did throw up a little muddy water here and there.

The rim brakes are very sharp indeed in the dry and bite far earlier than the hydro 105 discs on the commuter. I had to bunny hop patches of scalped tarmac.

I'll need to grab a bit of weekend time to replace the BB. It's the first time it's been replaced on this bike, hoping it comes out alright. It's lovely to be riding in daylight in the mornings, and with a little more light in the evenings.
