A quick letter explaining that you are concerned that the Taxi was being driven in an aggresive manner when it should be obvious to any driver using this route regularly that you were avoiding the potholes and that you were sworn at by the driver will normally end up with a couple of points on the driver's record.
I have cured one firm locally - at he access to our Hospital is a car park, with a separate lane and a 10 mph limit, they love to undertake in the car park lane and cut across cyclists at the roundabout.
All it took was 4 emails to the licensing office complaining about the illegal undertake and speeding to stop the practice totally.
Cheers for that, Cunobelin, will look into that. For sure, it seems more civil than shouting back at taxi drivers.
This morning I was commuting at a busy time, so I took the cycling path. Alas, there was roadworks on it!
Got back on the road, but after the enormous pothole! Colleagues asked me if anybody had called me an idiot on my way in ....
