Ta! Trouble is, the housework is still waiting for me tomorrow. I'll just have to run round the house like a mad demon and get it done in superquick time.

Could someone have a bukkit of tea on standby for tomorrow mid-morning please? Dinah has one last appointment with the vet.....

Oh damn, Chuffy & Baggy. There's nothing worse, even when you're doing the right thing. It's bloody awful to have to do. Zillions of fellow cat-lover supportive hugs.

Aw heck, that must be hard.;)

Just think about the good times, and remember you are doing her a service you can't even easily do for a fellow human - going out in the certainty of loving, caring company and an end to pain.

Who would like some home-made choc sponge?
Yes please! ;)

And thank you to everyone for the kind words and thoughts. I know that the death of an ancient pet isn't the greatest tragedy that one can face (and I know that some of the people who have posted, both here and in another place, have faced far worse) but it still hurts. It's nice to be able to exorcise some of that pain in the company of friends. So thank you from myself and Baggy.

Dinah was buried yesterday in the style of a barbarian princess. She has many grave goods and will no doubt confuse the crew of Time Team 2209 should they dig her up. We're currently trying to find a suitable plant or shrub to mark her grave. Preferably something that will be in flower or at least be visually appealing at this time of year. Any ideas?

Home made choc cake and tea for Baggy and Chuffy.

I would find it difficult to explain to a non-pet owning person, what it is like to lose a pet. My father died some years ago. But I would say it is a different sort of loss, but as you say, still very painful, to grieve the death of a cat or other pet.
