I could try that. Do you remember the song by Barbara Dixon of that name, or am I showing my age (again) ;)

I googled the origin of the name Zurin, and it suggested Ukraine or Russia for the origin, but as Ukraine was part of Russia until um recently? that does not help.

Wasn't Ukraine part of the USSR not Russia?

Not often you are in here is it. ;)

No, not often, just happened to be passing today. Tea rose to the top of the list just as I was contemplating how to move 40Kg of Labrador that didn't want to move.

Have you got over the shock of me posting in P and L the other day, I know I haven't.

 It was a good post. No, not often you post there, though I see you lurking occasionally.

Oh I thought you were cross with me for trying (and failing) to make a funny comment in a normally very serious Section. Previous posters had been light-heartedly taking the P*ss out of each other with comments about sniffer dogs etc, so I forgot where I was and joined in. Yes, lurking, - I sometimes lurk, there, but I am very allurgic to having the proverbial ton of bricks land on my head. And sometimes it gets a little too robust and personal for my liking. So I tend to leave it to those who enjoy that sort of debate.

* Bangs head on desk * of course yes, you are right. I should really know that,:blush: as I have a Russian great grand father. In mitigation, I offer the fact that European History is not my strong point.

I am going to have a shower now, in an attempt to wake up my brain (and the rest of me).

God no, I wasn't cross. I don't take myself seriously enough to ever be cross with people who point out my errors. I shoulda put a winkey smiley in at the end.

Anyway I need a cuppa tea. I've just been pulling very well built but ugly wardrobes down in the new house. I was thinking of keeping it, modifying it and putting it somewhere else but 87 billion screws later and I can't remember how it goes back together.

For Night Train..

Carpenter makes Vespa out of wood

It's rather lovely in its own way
I quite like it though I'm not into Vespa's. It would be interesting to see it bedecked with wood framed mirrors like a proper mod motor.

I've just come in for some tea too.
I have just collected twelve 3'x2' paving slabs and had to carry them through a flat from the back garden to my trailer out the front. Must find some where to put them in the morning.

It looks like Oxfam would like me as their "Treasurer" at their local shop. A very grand title, but it is basically doing the weekly sales returns, the ordering, Petty Cash etc. Possibly research into various items that look like they may be valuable, and general admin assistant to the Manager (who is not a Russian male, but a lady from the Philipines, I guess).

It was the Area Manager who did the interview, and she seems very pleasant. I can chose when I do the hours, about four a week, to start with, and then see how things go. It will broaden my office-based computer experience, and keep me out of mischief. ;)

Excellent! will you get first dibs on stuff? My gran did that at a Heart Foundation Shop, trouble was, she was a bit of a hoarder, when she moved to a smaller house we had bags and bags of stuff to go back to a charity shop!
