Afternoons!
It's such a nice day out there I'm going home.
CTC pub ride tomorrow evening, which should be fun.
And the first outing for the Carbon Uberbike with Jiggerypokery's old 105 gruppo on it!
See you all on the morrow.

Morning All!

I stand before you guilty of a terrible crime - I've neglected the Turbo-Folder to the extent that the freewheel seized up.

On the upside, I've got the fixed to play on in Lahndahn Tahn.

Any chance of a cuppa?

Well, lets' face it, it was probably made of patent Fast-Rust Cheese Metal (TM) in the first place...

Missed you all yesterday, After a day pedalling a Maximus round picking up recycling, on a day when everyone had left out twice as much as normal, in a heatwave, I didn't feel up to the slight diversion to campus to log on...

Anyway, at work today, revived with a cuppa.... <hands round tea>

Very possibly. I therefore plead not-guilty on the grounds of diminished responsibility...

Morning (just) all.

Kettle's on. I'm making tea to distract from my failure to make it all the way up Winnats yesterday.

I got half way up, stopped and just couldn't start again. It was so steep that I physically couldn't push the pedals around.

I think I need smaller gears

Oh well, I hoofed it up the rest pushing my bike, which was hard enough.

Flapjack anyone?

No, you need a recumbent trike. Gears as low as you like, and you can start off from stopped at the slowest speed you need....

Once I stop on a hill on a bike, I'm walking, because I simply can't get the momentum to get going again and stay upright, in my lowest gear. Not a problem on three wheels (although there is of course, more weight to shift). And once you're over the top, the descent! Oh boy!
