That's not a witty reply. Just thought I'd show you a pic from yesterday now I've got it off the camera.

What was the owl doing on your camera? being a sort of slightly militant "watch the birdie?"

I hoped I might see an owl on the way home on Monday night, coming back through Sutton upon Derwent way, but I didn't. There was a chap setting up a camera at the Elvington bridge, but I didn't stop to ask what he was hoping to see...

Excuse my hignorance, I have no idea what sort that is. guessing it might be a snowy wol? A chick or adult?

I am still intending to do an Owl evening at Batsford sometime.

Shows what little I know.:blush:

I thought I was a bran wol, and I am a twany wol, now a swony wol is a bran wol. No wonder I cannot make sense of the universe. Which leads me to a question for TheDoctor -

What is the speed of dark?

Tea up!

Fact: Owls have conical eyeballs. That's why they have to be able to swivel their necks so much, because they can't swivel their eyes in the sockets like we can.

It's something to do with optimum light gathering, I think.

Just had a call from the bike replacement crew.
I have a delivery date for the replacement Brommie
September 4th
Grrrrr. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the underwear of bike thieves, and may thier buns be stolen by marauding baby elephants.

I expect the baby elephants might have a few fleas to get rid of too...

Be thankful you're getting a replacement.

Still bit of a slog till September!

I am happy to announce that I have affixed my lovely new wheel and the 8 speed kit kindly donated by TheDoc!

You can tell these parts went up the Ventoux, if you hold the chain rings to your ears you can hear faint heaving breathing and mumbled obscenities!

Gonna have a noice choice cuppa tea and then connect and adjust everything after dinner!
