I'm relieved to report that the first night of YLOC's "The Likes of Us" went OK last night. At least, as far as I could tell from the back of the pit it did (can't see the stage).
Although the musical director did cross himself before kicking off the really fast number in the second half...

Well, if from the back of the pit, you didn't see any of the cast, that's a good sign, it means none of them tripped over the footlights and fell in....
My sister played the French Horn in the school orchestra, and as she was the entire brass section (as usual, we were a bit heavy on violins and woodwind.), they drafted in a boy from the boy's school who played the trombone. He had a habit of hooking his slide round the wingnut on her music stand, and pulling it away from her while she was playing....
