So how much is it really going to cost with Ryanair? I assume you've got some luggage. And yes, you should feel *very* dirty flying with Ryanair!!;)

I have double checked for any hidden addons, and my luggage is below 15KG, I didn't take a lot with me. I was going to be abroad for so long, it was better just to buy what I need abroad.

My MTB that I took with me I sold for 200 Euro as I have no room for it back home, my roadie has priority, and I very rarely use it now.

So, 40 Euro including speedy boarding isn't too bad although I'm not exactly looking forward to spending 2 and a quarter hours in the hands of Ryanair.

Anyone for tea? Or are we supposed to migrate to the chatbox? I fear that would mean mixing with the dreaded c*ffee drinkers though:laugh:

How's your neighbour today Tdr1nka?

Mornin' Squire,

What's with all the Swiss stuff?

Afternoons again!

We have been cycling round the Bodensee aka Lake Constance. It has coastlines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and up till yesterday I was in the Swiss bit. Now back at Freidrichshafen in germany, where the Zeppelins were made. They've got a rather good museam showing the construction - makes you realise what you could have made with enough bin liners, sellotape, hydrogen and some really light Meccano...

On a similar note, (on the subject of flights) we have a Plum Fair here this weekend. One of the events is Teddy Zip Wire. They tried Teddy parachutes. Some one worked out the size of the parachute relative to the weight of the Teddy, and gave the calculations. The Prize was for the Teddy who had the longest flight time-wise.

The event, was, needless to say, not without incident. Some teddies got blown on to the roof of the Church, some got stuck in the tree tops. My largest Teddy was a spectator and fell off the top of the Church tower, but he still says he was pushed rather than overbalanced. Zip wires are considered safer now, than parachuting, if you are a Teddy bear.

I think I am getting a little depressed.

My activity and interests are getting a little manic, all or nothing, and I am not concentrating on anything for very long at a time.
Rehersals tonight was terrible. New songs in the chorus were fine but my solo stuff was worse then when I first started learning the songs. My workshop is a tip and I haven't made anything for ages.
I am also looking at the bottle of wine and actively avoiding it more often then not.

As long as you are actively avoiding it, as opposed to not avoiding it (unless in moderation).

Maybe a grand workshop tidy would help? I'm meaning any day now to have a grand flat tidy - for a start there's a lot of old PhD notes and stuff I can recycle. I've been sort of mentally tidying, just need to physically do it. I imagine getting all your tools in order, everything oiled etch, could be quite calming, if you can face getting started.

Doc - if you want to built a Zeppelin, you need cow stomachs for the gas bags. And how far is it round the Bodensee? I have a thing about trying to cycle through as many countries as I can in a day, sometime.

CM - if you move to France, can I come visit when I do my grand tour?

Any tea?

Round the main body of the lake is about 80 miles.
If you start in the right place (Lindau or thereabouts, far right on a map) you could do Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Lichtenstien in about 3 hours or so.

Hmm, that's pretty good, I'm just looking to see if my dream of france, germany, luxembourg, holland and belgium is doable....

Oh, I bought a hat today. A floppy cotton one, reversible, cream one side, and cream with big red flowers on the other. It's quite girly, for me. I reckon I need a sunhat and the baseball cap I have always seems to blow off.

Plus, I put a cheque in the post for a CC cap. So I bought TWO hats today!

By Jove, I think it's doable...

Start in France on the Luxenmbourg border, then into Lux, then Belgium, up to Germany (just!) and turn left into Holland. 107 miles according to Mapmyride. Of course, that's not checked for motorways or anything...

Gosh. I have An Ambition. 5 counties in a day. To make it proper, I'll have to try and have a national pastry speciality in each.

Actually, looking again, it might be possible to plot a straighter line through Belgium and cut the distance. More pastry time!

Gromit reinforces the electric vehicle for when Arch recycles her PHD notes. I may swap her with a JCB for the day.

You know, I was thinking I'll have to do it in stages;). Or bring some with me whenever I'm in at St Nicks... I felt guilty enough putting out a box this week, with two bags of shredded stuff.

Anything only used on one side will go to Oli, for drawing paper.

I thought you couldn't put shredded stuff out to recycle? Maybe it's different up here, but I always thought they needed large sheets of paper for recycling.

Ah, I've just checked on that giant interwebby thing, and some do some don't. Looks like mine might, as they mix paper and cardboard together.

Tea? anybody? (just to get the thread back OT)
