No, the quote was for the whole job, not per day. People who live around here mostly seem helpful.

We have lots of roadworks at present in the centre of town. These means the pedestrian light crossing thingies are out of action. The result is that you see people, including the road work men, helping other people cross the road.

My shoe laces came undone the other day, and the person in the shop offered to do them up for me, when he could see that I was struggling to bend down.

I was in a shop the other day, admiring the waistcoats on the shopkeeper's Gromits and she explained to me, when I asked, how to measure Gromits and Bears and make waistcoats for them.

I asked the Window Cleaner if he could do a repair job for me, and he said no, because he was confident that if he explained to me how to do it, then I could do it myself.
