He appears very helpful, that makes me suspicious . You sure he's not on daywork rate.

No, the quote was for the whole job, not per day. People who live around here mostly seem helpful. We have lots of roadworks at present in the centre of town. These means the pedestrian light crossing thingies are out of action. The result is that you see people, including the road work men, helping other people cross the road. My shoe laces came undone the other day, and the person in the shop offered to do them up for me, when he could see that I was struggling to bend down. I was in a shop the other day, admiring the waistcoats on the shopkeeper's Gromits and she explained to me, when I asked, how to measure Gromits and Bears and make waistcoats for them.:girl: I asked the Window Cleaner if he could do a repair job for me, and he said no, because he was confident that if he explained to me how to do it, then I could do it myself. :girl: He was not being rude, he said he would not charge people for work that people could do. I often see bicycles lent against walls in the town and they are not locked.;)
Sometimes, I wonder if I inhabit some sort of alternative universe.

Milo@, Best wishes to you and your family, keep positive and I guess you'll be getting up to London when you can.

And Speicher - that does indeed sound nice. I think most places aren't actually as bad as people would have you believe. I often encounter..I don't know, just random acts of kindness, I suppose. Someone who lets you go first in the supermarket, because they've got a trolleyload and you've got a loaf and some apples. Or the bar owner who gives you a free drink because you've been there before, even though they know you're going home the day after and might never be back. It's all good.

* brings in warmish fresh home-made flapjacks on large plate to put on table *

I needed to use up some butter, ground almonds, raisins, flour etc, so used Cathryn's recipe, they are rather scrumificatious, :girl::girl: Not recommended for dunking tho you could try if you like.

Very nice and much appreciated. I'm off home in 15 mins so I'll see you all later on or tomorrow, depending. I'll leave the tea, as it wouldn't have a chance to cool down. I have some Vimto

I am going swimming again later, another reason for making flap jacks, something scrummy to have with a cuppa when I get back, in an effort to avoid crisps etc. Don't tell Arch but they contain Jumbos - jumbo organic oats.

Is there a Vimto team jersey to match?:tongue:xx(

If only... I've got an Irn Bru one, as some of you know, but a Vimto one would be ace.

I quite fancy a few of the Foska designs, as it goes, and Primal Wear do a brilliant Dark Side of the Moon one:biggrin: [/aging hippy mode]

And I strongly suspect that anyone standing in between Arch and flapjacks is in danger of being trampled, Jumbo oats notwithstanding.

Enjoy the swim Speichy, and cheers.

Right, having put all the furniture back in place, and applied plasters and soothing lotion to trampled on toes, I'm off home. Sorry again about the stampede...

See ya all tomorrow!
