I get the rescue battery hens on Saturday, Arch. Two, no more then three. It's entirely possible I could have an egg or two that day, as the birds are straight from the farm that morning. They sometimes lay for a couple of days and then go off laying as all their energy then goes into regrowing feathers, putting on some weight... and once they are fit again, they start to lay. I should get eggs, but from a farming POV, they are 'egged-out' and would have ended up in pet food or low grade chicken products sich as pies had the BHWT not stepped in to rescue some of them.

yes please tea would be very nice.

I am going to try and renew my c*r tax on line.:biggrin:

I bought some proper bread today, can be cut as thick as you like;), and proper cheese, and rindless back bacon, and there is some proper butter in the fridge, and some eggs. Who is coming round for tea at my house this evening?

(and what are you going to bring with you?;))

I'm on my way already. What would you like me to bring? I gots some reisling Auslese, if I could tempt you with that...

And renewing car tax on line is easy enough - did this for a mates car a few weeks ago. You need the reminder or the V5 (log book), and it interrogates the MOT and insurance databases. A piece of cake, if you'll pardon the expression when we're all talking about bacon...
Costs a couple of quid to pay by credit card, IIRC. Use a debit card - it's free.

Bugger. Hadn't thought of that. Ermmm. No point in you raiding the wine rack, as we've established you have a corkscrew...Plus you don't know where it is. My wine rack, not your corkscrew. Hmmm.
Oh, I don't know. Bring the dog, then. I assume you won't eat the dog?

No, I wouldn't eat the dog. She was very waggy! And I enjoyed identifying her bones...

Ok, how about the mini donuts, and I'll fetch some bacon on the way over...

Just realised, I have half a tin of beans in the fridge, and some eggs. If I get bacon, and maybe sausages, and perhaps even a potato farl, I can have a fry up for supper! And I do need to go to Sainsburys. It would make a change from things-with-pasta - much as I like things-with-pasta, sometimes a nice fry up really hits the spot!

Bacon with Speicher, or bacon, sausages and potato farl with Arch?

*does abrupt handbrake turn*
*drives up A1 instead of down*

But is in reality still at work for another 70 mins...
