I was only 14 when Blue Monday first came out! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

I wasn't far behind you

Miloat - the big fish style of dancing belongs to circa 1988, so is dangerous when mixed with Blue Monday. I can't remember the appropriate dance for Blue Monday - probably something that involved shaking a shoulder pad...

As I'm sadly only able to type in the monophonic this looks less impressive than it should do.

If you have the song to hand, this is a typed approxamation of the synth leadline intro.

No, that sounds too much like "Goodness, Gracious Me" as sung by Peter Sellers. except there would be another diddy and then three more doos on the end

Monophonic means one sound, it comes from the old days when peeps could only afford one speaker.
Then came stereophic or two speakers (from where the name 'stereo' came), and in the 70's they even tried quadraphonic, 4 speakers, a precursor to the 5:1 sound sound systems.

In a nut shell like.

Ye gads!
You are absolutely correct Speicher,(good evening my dear)all except for that extra diddy.

This is of course is how you are able to tell the difference between New Order's 'Blue Monday' and Peter Sellers & Sophia Loren's 'Goodness Gracious Me!' when presented in their respective typed forms.

Tea before bed anyone?
