Hello all! Been awol for a couple of days, working for the recycling team. Dear god, the hot weather makes the job hard - not the being out in it, but the fact that everyone has twice the normal volume of cans, beer bottles, pop bottles... The sheer volume to be collected!

And on Tuesday, we rescued a canary. It was sitting on the kerbside, looking lost, so we scooped it up in an impromptu holding cage (an old babymilk powder tin lined with newspaper) and I've been looking after it at home ever since. We think we've found a proper home for it now, someone with an aviary. I would have kept it, but I don't like the idea of a bird in a small cage, and anyway, I'm off on holiday soon... Sweet little thing. I even bought it a box of Trill yesterday and made it a temporary cage out of a cardboard box and a cake cooling tray.

I've been cooing at it, stuff like "who's a pretty boy then?" but it just looks at me like I'm an idiot...

I think I will get a tray ready for tea consumptionising.

Some one might turn up :biggrin::biggrin:
Or I could eat all of the rest of the Jaffa cakes all by myself, and the choc digestives and the custard creams, :smile:and the ginger biskits., and then go for a dip in the pool while no one is looking.
(needs to try out new swim suit).

Taking the biscuit
Hooray for the clipless Miloat!
I've just got in from the recording of tomorrows R4 News Quiz.
It was quite funny but as it's been a week of fairly dismal news it lacked a certain 'oompf'.

Tea anyone?
