No, I was definitely not well enough to even think about travelling to Nottingham. I am hoping to meet either Spandex or Mickle if they are at the (much smaller) Cycling Festival in Worcester next, er nearly this, month.

Not sure I'd use that word while Waffles is within earshot. She'd eat you alive (if you were very fortunate!)

Bring it on!

Back to extended celibacy then, more time for work.

Just going 'Humph! ' at the mo because someone I quite liked, and was recommended to me by a mutual friend, turned me down for being too old (I'm 41, she is 35). I've been saying to friends for ages that younger is not the way to go for me. Not one woman under 40 and single has shown an interest . Back to the toyboy route I guess.

Having met you, I'd say it's her loss. Silly woman. The only thing 41 is 'too old' for is going on a club 18-30 holiday, and I'd say that's a positive benefit!

I agree with Arch, on the basis that if a lady turns down the opportunity of meeting you just because of a smallish age gap, that is her loss.

How bizarre - if you were 18 and she was 13 I could see her point... but 35 and 41????

She's waaaaay too picky!!

Whatever happened to meeting people and seeing if you get on? Age shouldn't really matter, and certainly not at those ages when 5 years is neither here or there.

Hot chocolate anyone?

I learned some Irish wisdom yesterday.

When the wind blows hard from the south, you can throw your dongle in Dingle Bay.

Translation; you get no mobile reception at the Shedravan in a strong Southerly wind. A whole day without the internet

Tea everyone?

BTW I will be back in Blighty at the end of the week.
Home to the poorly hack that needs all new running gear before it is ridden again and a tool kit that has to stay in Ireland. Grrrrr.

So Tdr1nka, that explains why you ignored my kind invitation of me visiting you yesterday. It was very noisy here, so the cat and I wanted to visit somewhere quiet.

We even went so far as to get the pea green boat ready check the flights from Birmingham to Cork, then bus to Bantry, was it...?

You can get a bus from Cork to Castletownberehaven, we could pick you up from there!
There are, in theory two buses a week that come to the more local village but they tend to leave just at the very moment you wake up and say, 'Aggghhhhh, I'VE OVERSLEPT!!!!!'

But you get the picture.

So I do not need to change buses in Bantry. BTW I have been to Caherdaniel, magnificient beach, and also Castletownsend. B), and Dingle and Mizen Head, but not necessarily in that order.
So are you at Allihies? (map of Ireland by the keyboard)

As it is such a nice sunny afternoon, I shall be outside on the sunbed.
I hope the Doctor returns soon to continue filling up the pool with the hosepipe, I might need a dip to cool off.

BTW I nearly missed Shaun's advance notice of "outtage" starting at approx 4pm. "See you" this evening or tomorrow?

If he doesn't, I often find a cucumber raita, or a tzatziki (bless you!) is a very cooling and refreshing dip.

I have to say, I can't see why the wind would affect mobile phone sigmal. Is it something to do with a surplus of positively charged ions in the air, or did a dish blow over at a waystation in Connemara...

Well, it went to Paulus, and he took it to Stevenage (for the Stevenage Circular 80K Audax) where I got it, and it's now on my bookcase.
I really must find someone to pass it onto.

PM me with a rough idea of what tools you need. I can soon scoot Dahn Sahf with a selection of rattly stuff one evening after work.
