Night Train

Maker of Things
I've been a scaffold monkey this morning. Setting up the first half of a scaffold tower so I can repair my roof a little less dangerously.

Time for a cuppa and some lunch.

Night Train

Maker of Things
In between heavy showers I am 2/3 of the way to my roof with the scaffold. I have also finished the panto haunted bed and had my phone set up to send picture messages. Sadly I can't put M on my magic numbers, she is going to prove expensive to keep in touch with.

Time for tea again.

Whose is this? tucked behind the cushions.

Ah. That might be mine...

Urgh...

I need tea. I'm typing this almost single fingered, I'm so tired. I've been doing a shift with the recycling collectors, and it's been a hell of a day. Just long, and tedious (lots of full boxes, so had to make return trips to empty the trikes), and more than necessary numbers of yoofs hanging about being generally cheeky and a nuisance. And I smell of dustbins. And I've come up to campus to go online, so I still have to go home. I may be too tired to make dinner. And I have to do it all over again tomorrow, and all week! Perhaps tomorrow I can get on a nice round, nothing as scummy as Tang Hall. I never knew how fiercely I could bellow until I saw a yoof about to make off with the trike...

Does anyone know if New Orleans is still there? They were battening the hatches this morning.

Arch, is this a new career direction? Binlady, I thought it a strange way for a member of the educated among us to go? Are times that hard:ohmy: The kettle is on and a pot of Sainsburys finest red label will be with you soon.

Oh, thank you!

It's just a handy way to earn a few quid, which I need just know. And it's casual work, so fits in with my continuing PhD and one day a week working for Velo Vision.

It's not all bad, just today has been rather trying. Not the best neighbourhood. At one point I wa loading the trike being circled by a small boy, 8 or 9ish, riding round and round on his bike shouting "****ing hell, ****ing hell" to impress me...

Ahhhh.... There we go, I can feel the gray hairs sprouting, and an overwhelming need for a mug of Bewleys Irish Breakfast Tea.

Ooh! I haven't heard of/tasted that one before! What's it like, then?

You can stand your spoon in it, builders tea. Available all over Ireland, and from my local farm shop.
