Well, er , I haven't "got" the job. Just asked if I would consider it. There might be other volunteers who might be interested, but I think I am the only one with sufficient computer skills to assist the Co-ordinator. At least they consider me capable of doing it.

The stock control, invoicing etc is all on computer.

One of the expectant mothers is leaving at the end of October, and the other one shortly afterwards. I have already started learning what needs doing.

I think I earned about two million Brownie Points thanks to the help I received from the computer whizz people, about ten days ago. (On a fred called "IT - a challenge or an impossibility".)

This post would be of considerable help to me. It would be part-time and paid, and although the Environment Centre gets busy, it does not usually get frantic. My colleague the Co-ordinator is one of those people who plans ahead and stays ahead. Two weeks ago she was doing the leaflets she needs at Freshers' week in the middle of October. When you are dealing with the environment, recycling, photo-voltaic energy, and ground source heat pumps, time is usually on our side.

It is slightly different of-course if we run out of Fair-trade biscuits biskits or Tyrrells crips. The company transport, is, of-course, a bicycle.

The Co-ordinator works four days a week, with admittedly a late finish on Thursdays, 7pm and works til 4pm the other days, including Saturday. She gets Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays off. Her dog, stays in her van, and there is a very large park to take him for a walk at the beginning, middle and end of the day. Some regular visitors also take him for a run in the park.

There may be a vacancy for a Park Warden, but I expect it is a bit far for you to commute from London.

Now, the important stuff. What sort of bike?

If you can find my "clockwork orange" photo in the photo challenge, it is in the background. It is white and has two wheels. There is also the bicycle-powered radio, I spose you will be liking to see that as well?

Evening all!

Congratulations on the job Speicher - I hope it works out well!
And Waffles, commiserations! Does this mean Waffly Junior will be on chauffeur duties for the time being? I can offer some medicinal Edradour if that'd help?
