Aw, she looks lovely.

She is. She likes everyone, including the people who run the kennels. First dog I've had that didn't have to dragged to the kennels. Or the vets, for that matter.
Anyway, you and tdr1nka will meet her on the 12th, so see what you think.

Nipping up to the refectory yesterday, two of the ladies who work there were pushing a round top-loading fridge on wheels (the sort of thing shops stock icelollies in) through the common room. I remarked that the budget for Dr Who had gone right down, and Daleks weren't nearly as frightening any more, and they both giggled all the way to the other end of the room....

Alright, I'll go and see what's under the duvet.

I'll need gloves, a kevlar jacket and a bee-keepers mask. And a big stick.

*dons gear*

*advances slowly towards duvet*

*lifts corner of duvet*

<cut to close up of my horror struck face>

*scream*

<roll credits>

wtf are you on about?!

What, me? That's an attempt at the Doctor Who theme music.
Hence the Delia Derbyshire reference.
Or generally? Waffles disappeared under the duvet earlier, and won't wake up.
She's actually not online - I think she's got a cold.
Not about to let that interfere with general arseing about though.

Damn, I just got a key and a piano string to make tardis noises with!

Was very strange to watch the new Dr. Whos as I had to stop myself announcing from which previous BBC science fiction radio and TV shows the sound effects came from!
Good old Radiophonic Workshop!

There was a great programme on over the weekend about radio shows that transferred to telly, and they mentioned Hitch Hikers and they had Dick Mills listening to the HHGTTG radio effect of the earth blowing up and saying "ah, there's the end snippet off the tardis we stuck in it, because they cut the original tardis effect down a bit because it went on too long...." And you could hear it, quite faint, but once you knew, quite obvious. Fascinating stuff!

I seem to remember hearing that the Tardis is actually a much slowed and altered recording of something like a dustbin lid spinning and settling...
