I'm really disappointed.
In an earlier news report about the Olympic torch run on the BBC they said that protesters had tried to grab and extinguish the torch and it even went on a bus for a while.

I had wonderful imaginings of a protester legging it with the torch, jumping on a bus to escape and the driver saying, 'er......you'll have to take that upstairs mate.'.

So instead it seems the torch took a ride up Oxford St. on an open top bus, lucky thing.
The torch also had it's own hotel room in London last night and security to make sure it didn't go out, so it must have had room service as well!

Reality is on the blink again @ tdr1nka towers.
Tea anyone?

Yes, one could have misconstrued other things in the reports too, like a reporter legging it onto the DLR or jumping James Bond style onto a speed boat along the Thames. The map of the procession is pretty funny, the cycling and runners bit were a mere small fraction of the route.

Yes please!

The China issue aside, this whole torch thing is a rather bizarre exercise.
To fly the flame from country to country the flame remains lit in a special lantern. Does it get it's own seat?

I understand all this just about as much as bonj appears to understand Tea?.

*Hands out tea to everyone else*

Snow flakes getting rather big again outside. Politics aside the worldwide route does seem to be a bit OTT it's only a torch FCOL. It should be driven around in its own popemobile.

Must own up: I snaffled the rich teas and the hob nobs to feed to the hedgehogs in my garden, and ate the discustard creams myself. Do not know who scoffed the rest!

Bottled out of a bike ride today, but I have at least got the carbon bike fettled to perfection...I think. It may get turfed out of the hall before other members of the household finish their baths. Bike fettling in the house creates...unrest if it goes on too long.
I really ought to clean the flat bar bike. It's coated in crud...

Tea or something stronger, anyone?
