I must be getting old. My brother is a long-distance lorry driver, and has asked me to meet him for a drink at the pub he parks in overnight sometimes. We are not meeting until 9pm. To me that is the time, to be out already and enjoying oneself, not starting out! The Landlord lets him park in the car park, that's why it has to be there.

No riotting in here while I am out!

Not getting old at all, Speichs. When you're old, 9 pm is a time to be going home, not going out. Meeting at 9 is a sign of a mature outlook upon life, a realisation that it's best to have something to eat before going out for a bevvie or 15, and also a realisation that if you can't drink enough in two hours or so you really haven't been trying.

OMG are you working on Spaceship II?

Need to know basis, I'm afraid. I was paying attention in the security briefing. However, the website says they work on comms satellites, so it's hardly spilling the beans to say that's what I might have been working on. Allegedly.

Well, it's all going into orbit, or off to the planets, and it's as close as I'll ever get to going myself...

That is still a huge responsability, privilege and exciting prospect, knowing your work will escape the gravity of this pretty blue rock and off into space.
Exciting stuff!

But won't you get a staff discount on tickets?

Well, if astrium were in the space tourism industry I might! I expect I can just take advantage of the share option scheme, and if I save long enough, and Virgin Galactic prices come down over time, it just might be a goer.

It's certainly very good so far. And a 15 minute amble from TheDoctor Towers too.
I've never seen so much carbon in my life...

Evening all. Thought I'd post in anticipation of a cuppa. Also this should be my 500th post, and I want to see if my member status changes!
