I remember reading sometime ago about a bloke in Australia who built a drag bike that was powered by two cylinders cut from an RR Merlin engine, it ran at close to 300bph!!

I suspect that shortly after reaching the first corner, and failing to make it, it would be a 'very 'bent'...

I suspect if you put a Merlin in a microlite, as soon as you fire it up it becomes, just a Merlin engine.

On my last visit to the aviation floor of the Science Museum they didn't have a Merlin on display. I sulked.

I feel a visit to Elvington coming on this weekend... They have a couple of Merlins, still inside the planes...

I have a workshop manual for a Rolls Royce CV12 engine. It is the 26,110cc V12 engine as used in the Challenger tank and the Scammell Comander tank transporter if anyone wants to fit one in their bent. It has a dry weight of 2120kg so you might need heavier spokes in the wheels.

Big grunty diesel engines rock!

I believe you can get a Haynes manual for a Spitfire - yes, the plane. An actual restoration type manual...
