I've just had a toasted teacake delivered. Would that do?

Unusual. I didn't think you worked in a maternity unit. Was the mother a fruited tea-loaf?

Argh! I'm still here! My laptop is still untouched by work!

Yesterday, in my waiting for MrWC to finish a meeting, I visited a Tesco to get a spot of shopping. I couldn't resist..

I bet you were cock-a-soup at finding that!

(note. I meant to type 'soup', as a substitute for 'hoop'. So why did I type 'hook' the first time? Oh dear, my brain is really on the way out today....)

OOhh yes, hot choc, I had one at about 4pm too, just right for these cold days.

Waflleycat, thank you for your reassurrance on Tasha's new "habit". It was worrying because she seemed to think the best place to do it was at the top of the stairs, and she nearly over-balanced at one point. When she gets out more, perhaps she will chase leaves etc, but not Leo!

Don't assume your cats will become best buddies. Like humans, they are all different with their own personalities, likes & dislikes. They may well become best buddies, they may tolerate each other, they may avoid each other - that's all normal. PLus, it's early days and they will still be working out their situation & relationship around each other.

You are welcome to join in, you do not need to read the preceeding umpty thousand pages. Arch and Waffles can explain it much better than I can.

If you do not like tea, you can have a non-tea beverage, like hot choc or whatever. Lots of points on here would not warrant a new thread, but may be worthy of mention. Please join us if you would like to. ;)

Is this the longest running thread in internet forum history:smile:
I know of a longer one on another forum used mostly by women.
It is in relationships and is based around one person's, and everyone elses, attempts at internet dating. Currently at 14579 posts started August 2006.

Tea started in Sept 2007 and so is the faster growing one.

Afternoon! Help yourself to tea & biccies. here is where we discuss anything & everything in a friendly and often silly, pointless fashion with some serious stuff occasionally thrown in. All good-natured over a cup of tea ;)

The cats generally ignore or tolerate each other. I thought that Leo would object, but from the start he has been very well-behaved towards Tasha, with only the occasional hiss or waving a paw at a distance. He is a large and very strong cat, I think he realises she is small and young. The main thing is that no fur is flying, or snarling etc. As I am typing this Tasha has decided that in the absence of running up and down trees, the stairs make a good playground.

Try a piece of tin foil, rolled up to the size of a hazelnut.

Flick gently towards/near/away from cat as desired. Repeat.

I've known cats that much prefer these to a ping pong ball or other cat toy. Used to have a cat that would "fetch" one of these repeatedly .

+1 for the tin foil ball. When I was in London we used to drop a foil ball down the full height of the stair well and one of the cats would run down and bring it back up again. Great excersise. We tried it on the dog, with a ball, but it was too noisy and the dog always threw it at out feet and then ran back down to wait for it to be thrown.
