Yes, Tea please.

and a mince pie or three, thank you

The cat has pushed the tree over twice already. I am delaying putting twinkling little sparkly things on it in the vain hope that she finds something more interesting to play with. Like her own tail, or the ping pong ball or the other cat, or the birds in the garden or the tree in the garden .... anything really.

You can have as many as you like, just as long as you don't put your feet on the furniture.

Hi all. Been away for a bit. Mrs Uncle Phil's back home and has been distracting me from you lot!;)

For the mouse lovers:

Caught this little gent in the course of work a few weeks back. They seem to be quite widespread, but hard to trap, so we don't know just how widespread, but they probably aren't as rare as the textbooks suggest - they're just under-surveyed. We think.

Anyway, he must have seen the camera because rather than just running off to cover, he posed beautifully for me for several minutes. Different poses and everything. As soon as I put the lens cap on, he scuttled back into the weeds.

He's a harvest mouse, by the way. Isn't he charming?

That's just like the one I found in my garden. ;) I was fascinated by his or her tiny front claws, that look like fingers. The summer that it was in my garden was that very hot summer, so I made sure it had water available, but what do they eat?
When I picked him up, I held him gently round his (round) tummy, he did not seem to mind.

Hello there, tdr1nka!

'Tis OK; managed to get rid of the virus that attacked me in Asia.

I'm a bit restless at the mo! I'm trying to get away for February (either skiing, beach and/or cycling - but I've no one to go with!).

Meeting Chuffy and Baggy on Saturday, and possibly Aperitif next Tuesday whilst in en route for New Year in Stockholm.

Hopefully we'll find a convenient date to meet as well before too long. ;)
