Hooray, even more Tea?ers are online, I'm glad I opted to buy a sandwich and stay here for a bit...

That's about 50p more than it's worth! Shockingly bad book, especially if you have a long standing interest in the subject matter and can see exactly how he cobbled it together. Very, very badly written too, which is the real crime.

Well, I'm not expecting much, but I thought I'd get it as a trashy read (and having no knowledge of the subject, I shouldn't get too angry about it).

My supervisor, a few weeks back in one of our meetings, said (almost apropos of nothing) "If you ever want to write an airport bonkbuster, here's a good subject..." and proceeded to tell me about something which, he's right, would make a great trash novel, unless anyone has got there first. I'm not going to say what it is, because I may still write that book!

Can you get *ahem* 'devices' which work on a windup basis? I'm sure Trevor Bayliss could invent such if you asked nicely...

That's an interesting idea.... Would I'm guessing it would be more efficent to convert the wound up energy directly into... motion... IE clockwork, than to mess about converting it into electrical energy and then through a motor...

I can't believe I'm having this conversation...

I had a discussion on my MSc course about the use of solar powered ones. Would they have rechargable batteries in them or, to reduce the use of nickle and cadmium, would they be powered directly by sunlight.

Afternoon all! I received a belated birthday present this morning - Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection for keeping paintwork clean and shiny. Given that my new frame is due to arrive at the end of the month, do you think my mate's trying to tell me something?

You do have knowledge of the subject, the subject of well written and readable books. I can assure you this is not one of them.

I made the lamentable mistake of reading it and ended up throwing the book across the room in anger a number of times owing to just how dumb it was.

I only read it all the way thru to say I had actually read it when it came to givin it my own critique, I was also mind numbingly bored, staying at a friend's house and it was the only book they had!?

NT don't get me started again.

In fact DiVinci Clod annoyed me soooo much that I had to read 5 Dick Francis novels(easily demolished in one sitting)in a row, just to clean out my head!
