Stop it with the nut stuff!

Waffles, those knitted breasts... Blimey. I get odd looks when someone says "what are you knitting" and I say "an armadillo", but breasts...!

Bit worried when she says she tries to keep them flesh colour. Not according to the ones in the picture!

Perhaps, I should knit a pair, and become more voluptuous....

Ok, Chuffy, if you seriously want a duel.. My weapon is the Ukulele, and my seconds are Sticky Toffee Pudding please...

Ukeleles at ten paces? People might get hurt! Besides, if you've got a STP in your corner you're not going to turn around when Waffly drops the flag. You're going to be face down in the pudding bowl making scrobbly noises, thus making a mockery of the whole duelling process.

My favourite nuts are the cashew, the macadamia and Abitrary. ;)

Tea please.

Busy evening. MrWC was indulged this evening (fnarr, fnarr..) with roast beef, roast pots, roast parsnips, carrots, peas, brussels, gravy. And I made a small pudding and he had wine with the meal. I got some beef half-price today (sell by date was today, so reduced), so I made use of the opportunity. With the excess veg, I've made some veggie soup, adding some good stock and lentils. So that's ready for lunch tomorrow. I am now shattered and am in need of a cuppa.

Morning all! Kettles on, heralding another cold and almost sleety day in the frozen North (well, Sheffield anyway).

I've made an uncharacteristic early start, and as a result managed to coincide with the school run. There's an awful lot of barely moving traffic out there!

Ping Arch!

Don't suppose you'd know owt about this would you?

Seeing the URL, until I read the story, I was a bit puzzled, not thinking I'd ever given the impression I was expert in Surrealist art....

 No, nuffing to do wiv me gov, 'onest.

<nonchalently straightens sheet covering huge object in the corner>

If the thieves were actually after the metal and started to melt it down, would anyone notice, or would it make it more Dali-esque?

Chuffy, you may be mollified to know that I also like Cashews (about the only nut I like 'raw' (although, i think they aren't really nuts))and Macadamias. Also, salted peanuts, and smoked almonds.

Hoorah, my supervisor seems to think I'm going in the right direction with my results and there are some potentially interesting points. I use the word 'interesting' in a relative sense, of course.

Is that not supervisor code for "You've got even more work to do now than when you started"?

Oh god, probably!

My main worry is that I'm doing something terribly wrong in my analysis, and this fact won't come out until my viva... However much my results match up with the limited studies done before (no one has ever tried to do what I'm doing for the whole country and such a long time period), I can't imagine I'm actually getting it right....

Don't worry about the viva (says Landslide from a position of ignorant bliss).
My mate really enjoyed it - he described it as 3 hours speaking on the specialist subject of the life and works of himself.
No-one else in that room is ever going to be as knowledgeable on the subject!

Just now, I find it very hard to imagine myself in that position. I've never been someone who is terribly confident of my own opinions or knowledge. I guess by the time I get to that point, I'll feel better about it.
