I'm home from rehersals and I am knackered. It is non stop corriography on the stage and I then spent the tea break fixing wardrobe and stage stairs.

Got a pot of Earl Grey on the go and I inadvertantly ate the ring doughnut!

Arch, can you tell me the name of the colour of red on the recumbent cycle on the cover of Velovision. You have said that it is a colour that makes the bike go faster. I would like a bicycle in the same colour please.

Do I need to wear matching cycle kit, or does too much colourising have a Cancelling Effect on the Cumulative Enhansiation?

Does red and yellow make the bike go even faster, like the colours on Alejandro Valverde's? I would like to catch up with him sometime.;)

Tea? yes please.

Tea? yes please, before I decide what to have for Tea.

I visited the Acquired Brain Injury unit today at my local College. They like to have volunteers to support people one-to-one, while the students are working towards their ECDL qualification. It helps that just a few years ago, I passed my ECDL Two. There would be a Tutor there, and the classes are very small, perhaps four students, with two support volunteers. Unusually these days, they plan ahead, and are doing the recruiting process for volunteers to possibly start in September. It was ever so, ever so quiet in there, buts lots going on. Drama, Health and Fitness, Art, Gardening, and Computer Skills.

Sounds like an extremely worthy cause and rewarding vol job.

Well, it is partly what suits me really. ;) I used to work with adults with learning disabilities. But this usually involves some element of personal care. I much prefer the support part of the role. While I am looking for a job, I would like to do something constructive, and/or try it, to see if I would like to do it as paid employment.

I have also just started to so some Voluntary work elsewhere recently, but that is not going quite as expected. I will see how that turns out.
I thought they wanted me for one afternoon, early in the week, to do admin. Turns out they have put me down for two or three slots per week, including Saturdays and Bank Holidays. Which might be OK if they had explained that first, and then listened to why that was not IME what I wanted to do.

I understand exactly where you are coming from. I am in a very similar position with my Vol work with Sustrans. Also I used to be a Home Carer and know what you mean about the Personal Care aspect of the job.

Yep, some organisation seem to assume that if you want to volunteer for them it means you are a brain-dead pushover who can be used as a General Dogsbody.
