I'll wager you don't get woken by people playing the drums outside your house at seven in the morning.

My next neighbour and one of the neighbours across the road have dogs.
I hear those dogs barking ooo at least once a week!

There is Dragon Boat racing on the river on Tuesdays and Sundays in the evening, which seems to involve the biggest drum in the whole of Worcestershire.

Someone up the road owns a Morgan, old cars (about fifty years old) can be really noisy.

Only because they didn't have a watch and wanted to know the time....

Had a top altercation with a WVM on my way home from work yesterday, I had b*ll*cked the driver for needlessly cutting me up while he was on his phone and he got super upset when i blocked him from overtaking at a pinch point.

His final effort was to try to try to swerve at me, although I had suspected he might and hit the anchors while he sailed past.

I let fly my strongest feelings and waited to let him go, he carried on to the next set of red lights and I followed on slowly in the hope the lights would change before I got to him.

When I reached about twenty meters away from his van he slammed it into reverse, stopped ahead of me and got out, slamming his door.

At this point six Police officers in full uniform came out of a side street and I swiftly told them what this guy had been doing.

The WVM got back in his van sharpish and drove away before any of the Policemen could get to him. They did of course get his registration and promised to have a word.

Now how's that for luck?

I'm sorry to be such a bore but I'm not a sport fan of any kind, who is that Gentleman and for what is he so decorated?

That's Simon Richardson who won two golds and a silver on track at the Beijing Paralympics. We've known him & his good lady for a few years and they are both thoroughly nice sorts. Simon gave much encouragement to WCMnr when he was timetrialling. One of the problems the cycling paralympians have is that their efforts & success are nowhere near publicised as much as the able-bodied cyclists. Disability aside, Simon is a seriously fast cyclist who can beat many an able-bodied cyclist.. and he's a nice bloke too

Oh great. Another cyclist who's faster than me....
I bet he's better at climbing too.
*feels inadequate*
*remembers can put together a ride with 40+ refreshment stops in as many miles*
*feels better*

Thanks for the heads up there Waffles!

What an awesome dude!

One of the ideas we have been shuffling around at work is how we can encourage young disabled people, who are otherwise fit and healthy, into cycling with a view to going onto competition level.

We are not in the business of training for sport but we feel there is a need to boost confidence and fitness in those who might benefit.

Tea anyone?
