Excellent!! I discovered over the 'summer' that if I got all my little white 'backup' type lights and hung them off a garden umbrella, it made a nice gentle glow to eat by. Like candles, but brighter and not so prone to going out.
Not sure what a whole load of 3W Tesco LED torches would do though, apart from get my garden full of 737s that were looking for Luton Airport.

'That's your fault, you left the landing light on!'

Ah, you have the advantage of me there. I can't remember the three-day week.
Which is odd, as I do remember 'Bohemian Rhapsody' coming out.
Maybe I have selective amnesia...

Well, I remember the three day week, and you're older than me.

Mostly I remember the bakers being on strike and my Mum trying to make bread, scarred us all for life that did, especially if you dropped it on our foot. And another time we moved down to the landlady's flat for a week, because they had a gas cooker, and we didn't, and they went off to their relations in the country (who I assume had an Aga).

<sigh> Someone at dinner was talking about a very early memory she has. Of 1985....

1985? Woah that's harsh.

So, my good and gathered friends, I sit in coat & thermals waiting for the arrival of the electricity board. Lit only by Ay Ups I type what might be my last missive for the evening as the laptop only has 16% battery left.

Wherefor art thou Leccy man?

I need some tea.

UPDATE:

I have tea and I've been charging my phone with my wind up torch.B)

I'm so glad I have my wind up torch. In fact I have two now, I bought a bike light a couple of weeks back - a quarter of the size of the previous one, which was itself less than a quarter of the size of the Maygen one I bought back in the 90's.

And I listen to my Baygen radio every time I have a shower....

You *can't* just leave it like that!!
What have you done? Trodden on the cat? Abused someone by email? Eaten a whole tub of Ben+Jerrys?
We need details! And possibly photos...

*ferrets around*

OMFG. I agree. You are a bad, bad person.
He'll be scarred (or scared) forever.
And it'll really sting when the aftershave goes on...

Mornings! Just ...

Got the curtain finished and hung up. Hurrah!

The next project is a spot of dressmaking.

I have not had any brekkie this morning, other than a cup of tea. Bad! Bad!

Are you sitting down Wafflycat?

I was watching a tv programme last night, and at first I did not recognise him. He is a bit older now, perhaps eight years, a bit slimmer, and perhaps not as tall as I remember. And he was in civilian clothing, but the voice was unmistakeable. Can you guess who I am talking about?

I had not realised he would be in this programme, and he did not have his usual companion with him.

Excellent news, Tdr1nka!

What is the latest on the Wheels for Wellbeing?

Thank you kindly!* Just slicing up a baguette to accompany some edam cheese. Much as I like cheese sandwiches with lots of onion, they require a white farmhouse loaf.

* Wafflycat, another clue! :laugh:
