@wolly Get yourself a teenager to slowly talk you through it

I can't remember the last time I bought a CD, all my music is downloaded these days, then copied onto an mp3 player/phone/ for listening to wherever.

I recently bought a memory card for my phone and listen to my music on that if the laptop's not on, either through earphones if I'm out walking or on loudspeaker if I'm at home. The quality's not :wahhey: but it's good enough for a lil ole bumpkin like me.

Downloading music is much, much better IMHO, especially if you're not worried about uber quality, as you can pick and choose what tracks to get from an album - if the cost of each track that I like is less than the cost of the album, I do that, but sometimes the whole album works out cheaper.

So, in easy stages, I would download the music from tinternet, then copy it onto an mp3 player. How do I chose which track/s I would like to listen to? Or is it all on random/shuffle etc?
Approx how many pounds does a good mp3 player cost?

I have a £25 one which does more than enough for me, the tracks are stored in folders like on your 'puter then you choose what to play, can even set a 'playlist' for easy listening.
Get one with a display, not all have them, makes it much easier

When it comes to digital stuff, it's all about space: 1gb = 1000mb. To put it in context, I've got nearly 700 tracks on my memory card, taking up 5.6gb of space. Always buy more space than you need as you'll end up filling it anyway.

You can play by artist, album, genre etc or you can create your own playlist - I just put mine on shuffle. There's nothing quite like the juxtaposition of Meat Loaf followed by Mozart

I might see if the local Independant electrical retailer has one.
Mine is like a 'flash drive' ie-usb that goes straight into a usb socket on your 'puter, this connects it up and charges the battery, main difference in these is the size of the memory, 2gb, 4gb etc more memory means more songs can be stored

Edit- cross posted with the bumpkin, dam my 1 finger typing

I uploaded all my cd's to Amazon Cloud Player and just stream them from the t'internet when ever I want that way it doesnt use up any space on my phone. tablet, PC or whatever.
