Time to brave the
... dog wants walking and is being utterly pathetic about being booted outside into the garden. She's not taken to throwing herself against the door like she does at night if it's cold and/or wet but she's been leaning against it in a very pointed manner.

True. At least I'm indoors now, with the heater pulled as close to the table as the lead will allow.
