Finished work this morning. We had the end of year speech, raffle, handing out of the wine from the boss and a party. Samosas ^_^ and other stuff. Not many people around (retired,holiday,laid-off) so not much hanging around. Neither of us were hungry enough for lunch so we will be having a pastry and :cuppa: a little later. Busy tomorrow during the day so the holiday officially starts tomorrow evening :wahhey:

Dog walk #1 brought to an earlier-than-intended conclusion this morning because I forgot my wallet, rendering myself unable to purchase anything on my shopping list. Dog walk The Sequel planned for this afternoon, which means no bike ride on what's probably the last dry day of the year. Or ever, possibly.

In the meantime, toast and :cuppa:.

Old Mrs R has got 'flu so I'm off to tend to her this afternoon and do her housework and shopping. So I'd like to watch Murdoch Mysteries with you but I've got my afternoon's work lined up. I'm slightly cross as both my sisters are refusing to visit because they are worried that catching 'flu might ruin their festivities.......:hyper:
 Hope Mrs R feels better soon and you don't catch it...the bug's just spent the last 10 days working through our house!

I got out of work at 14.15, rode home like a devil, showered, changed, grabbed my bags, walked very fast to the station, got my ticket at the machine instead of waiting in the queue, and made the 14.57 train by the skin of my teeth. The chap blew his whistle as I came down the last steps to the platform, and I dived straight through the thankfully still open doors....

:heat:

I'm on my way to Manchester! :wahhey:

It's CHRISTMAS! :hyper:

I almost bought a :cuppa: from the trolley, but decided railway tea might just not be up to spec.

No, thank you, Rocky, I will be having a co**ee with my burgher in a bun. I do not think :cuppa: goes with burghers.

The bills have not been large, fortunately. £50 from British Gas, nil pounds from British Telecom, and um er less than £50 for the second telephone man. The Roof man at a guess will be the same again will be lots and lots of pounds. I venture to suggest that this will not make any difference to the local economy I spoke too soon.

The Roof man will in gainful employment at Speicher Towers next year. I need new roofing felt. No surprise on a forty year old house and several or nearly all the neighbouring houses have had that work done over the past few years.

He said I need to get new felt.

The tiles will be mostly reusable, so it will be mostly the cost of labour for two weeks. Plus the cattery bill for Leo, as he is terrified of the noise made by ladders. Fireworks, he is ok with, but with ladders, he goes.:cry::wacko::crazy: a lot.

What are the symptoms of needing new felt Speicher? That isn't a personal question - it's entirely a roof question
