Apparently, it takes less energy to boil water in a popty ping than in a kettle - but the popty ping won't get it quite hot enough for tea. But preheating the water and then putting it in the kettle would save power.

Anyway, we're having shandy.

My :hugs:was intended to be a , so here is another

Tomorrow Later today, my Mother is going to my Brother's and my Sister in law's house for ten days. That will hopefully mean a break for me, knowing she is being looked after, and entertained by them and their two dogs and the cat. ^_^

Well, just back from our office meal out... Italian this time , after having Chinese for the last 3 years  ... I have to say I'm missing the traditional Christmas meal with all the trimmings... it's their choice though, for now....

That sounds like the humans and animals will be forming gymnastic pyramids for her entertainment etc...

First :cuppa: of the day. My head is buzzing a bit, and I'm passing through my usual "I've not bought enough stuff!" crisis.

Yeah mine too Arch. I blame the brandy last night  :cuppa: is helping.

I've cleared the decks in the kitchen now and am just :cuppa: before getting up to my armpits in making mince pies. It's a risky business but you are all welcome to try one when I'm done. ^_^

Blimey, I've heard of 'deep filled' mince pies, but how big do you make them?!?!

There is something else Leo does not like. Fortunately, not often encountered on a daily basis: the sound of an Austin Healy engine being given some welly. ^_^

This street came to a standstill this morning. The bride from just down the road chose two vintage cars for the journey to the Church. One car needed a push start and it has a very noisy engine. One of the drivers was very smartly dressed in knee length leather boots, and those sort of Jodphur-shaped trousies/breeches. Steady on Arch! ^_^

I respected the bride's privacy and just took some photos of the cars and the above-mentionned driver.
