Thanks for the tip! I'll try that later.:sun:
Something is up with the colour register, it's like a solarised filter has been turned on?
Ianrauk really does have a blue face in these vids, and not just because we were all freezing cold.;)

Morning... I mean afternoon, all!

Wondered whether to go for a ride today, but opening the curtains at 9am to be faced with an inch of snow, decided against it. I don't want to drag the rear mech through snow if I can help it... (a 20" wheel means very little mech clearance...).

I have various things to get on and do - four tyres to turn into belts, and I was going to have a go at making a metal strip bracket to fix the mudguard on (was thinking of cutting up a tin can), but I might leave that, tinsnips are pricey and I might be able to borrow a pair from someone... Or commission Bikepete...

The continental market was a bit deserted, but I took pity on a french stall holder and bought a couple of chocolate twists. And then in the poundshop, they had packs of instant cappucino, so I got one of those too - somehow, it seems right with a French pastry.

Still, it's suiting the Viking festival, this weather, wandered past a couple of real proper Scandinavian speakers in the market, in their long woollen dresses and stuff, could have been 1000 years ago.

How does an instant version of Italian coffee go with a French breakfast roll (which was actually invented in Austria anyhow!)?

I suspect the answer is 'Very well, thanks!'

It's cold out there. The brommie coped well with the slush, although its rider had a few nervous moments going down a hill. Powerslide!!!

You know what I mean. Somehow, tea didn't seem right. Sacrilage, I know. I only fancy coffee very rarely, and this was one of those times.

Also found a Bob the Builder Scoop digger in the Heart Foundation shop, which will perhaps help a certain small boy get over the imminent overturning of his whole world. For a quid, I couldn't resist.

Poor mite.. she did look a little miserable...

Wet, cold and miserable down here.

Just took Miss t on the tandem to meet with the Bromey massive, but it got too cold for Miss t who for a short while was in tears and in danger of being put off cycling for good.

Thankfully a cup of Redbush Tea and a nice warm bath has mellowed her mood somewhat. Might drag her out to Decathlon for some warmer bike gear in a bit.

Tea, tea, tea, tea!

Had she previously declined to wear gloves hat etc? I'm always amazed how toddlers can refuse to wear gloves, I went out without them on Saturday, or hat, just walking around, and I was freezing - partly because one of our party has a dodgy hip and walks very slowly, so I couldn't scuttle to warm up.

I've always been the sensible dull sort who wears lots of layers, and hat and gloves and all that.

Nah, she was wrapped up well enough and we missed the worst of the rain, she was fine while we waited at HPC but got cold while we hung about and couldn't get warm again.

She was treated like a brave Princess on our return home and appears to be none the worse for wear apart from a few asides on how she wants to be a fair weather cyclist.:rolleyes:

Not having had children, I am somewhat guessing here, but I think being treated like a brave princess was the right thing to do. As you say, she got cold hanging about. No doubt aduts would get warm again very quickly once they were cycling. But very young ladies might not.

Some thermal type vests etc might help. I hope that next time we all get such cold weather, she will be a year older.

It is going to start getting a bit warmer isn't it?

Did you charge up and down in a suit of armour warding off dragons?

Hanging about is the worst thing - I'm fine if I can just keep moving...

The couple in the next flat appear to be putting up pictures, by the hammering sounds on our adjoining wall. (no, I haven't got the telly too loud, this is definitely hammering something into the wall). The odd thing is, they do this fairly frequently. At least once a fortnight I'd say. How many pictures can they have? Unless they do the job so badly, the pin falls out every two weeks...

Changing the subject slightly - how is Henry? Did he cope with all the ogling and googling and whatever else, that the relatives wanted to do?
Or did he, quite rightly, just want his Mum?

Whenever I look at small babies, which is not all that often, I try to remember to take off my specs, cos some babies get frightened by specs, or is that what people say to be kind?
