How do you eat them? My Mum likes to serve them in eggcups, with the top sliced off, and eat them like boiled eggs...

Mmm, elephant burger.... You'd need a very big bun!
Or a lot of them!

I eat my Kiwi fruit by first cutting of the top and bottom ends, then standing it up on one of the cut ends and sticking a fork in the other end to hold it still, then slicing off the skin in downward cuts removing it in strips.

The Kiwi fruit is then striped naked and untouched by human hands. If it is small I will place the whole fruit in my mouth to eat in one go, if large I will cut between the tines of the fork to make two halves which are then eaten in turn.

I used to serve oranges the same way. Once pealed I would then carefully slice out the segments from between the segment skins and serve skinned orange segments, again completely untouched.

My sister got me a t shirt when she went to New Zealand. On the front it said "How to prepare a Kiwi", with a strip cartoon showing the stages. Dead Kiwi on its back, then legs and head cut off, then feathers shaved off and finally, the egg shaped body was sliced to reveal kiwifruit insides!

Everyone who saw it did a bit of a double take and then there was a pause while they got it and then laughed.^_^

The t shirt wore out, but I cut the front off and kept it, and one day I'll get round to framing it.

Yes, that's very similar!

I was just watching the repeat of the History of Musicals on BBC4 and they mentioned Evita, and I thought, ooh, I wonder if there are any clips of Antonio Banderas singing in the film, on Youtube...

There's something about the way he sings 'mourning all day and mourning all night' at about 25s in that second one that makes me all weak at the knees...

Yes, I like Puss in Boots too. After all, half the attraction of Antonio (I think he might object to Antonia) is the voice.. Not seen the Puss in Boots film yet though...

So are the entire population of Tea going weak at the knees?

Any minute now, the Doc will mention Captain Jack....

I'm considering an early night with Arthur C Clarke, myself. And a large glass of water. McDonalds food is very salty.

On a more practical note, the home baked bread rolls can be deemed a success. ^_^ Strawberry jam may be purchased tomorrow to accompany them.

Has anyone tried making their own doughnuts?

I would ask the more long-standing  visitors to this thread to keep very quiet about TheDoctor and Spandex and doughnuts. :giggle:^_^:scratch::giggle:
