Well, I've dismantled a chain, and the bits are soaking. Takes a long time to dismantle a whole chain!

Really need to do a bit of tidying to get all my materials into some sort of order....

But first,

I'm going to break the mould tonight and not have pasta. I'm having cheat's chilli - using the leftover half of a tin of baked beans instead off kidney beans and tomatoes.

I found further proof today, that I live in a town in the 1950's. I needed to procure some screws to attach some decorative hooks to the door. I found out the size I needed, but decided that black ones with a dome head would blend in best with the hooks.

The Ironmonger in this town was able to find the right sort, shape and colour, and asked me how many I wanted. So I ended up with six in a little paper bag. None of this nonsense about having to find them myself in the shop, and then needing to buy 25 in a firmly constructed plastic carton.

Without wishing to spread his details too liberally across t'interwebs, we've got a little boy! He turned up just before Christmas (best present ever!), has been inundated with elephants, and has really strong legs already.
I'm trying to bring Mrs L round to the idea of a trailer, but it's early days yet...
