Hiya all, I'm struggling a bit organising my time, I really thought after all the stress of looking after my Mum and after her death, that I would be able to clear the decks and get down to writing my assignments. Alas it does not seem to be working.

I was just wondering if anyone has a proven method or a work program to help me to schedule my work. I have a list of things that need to be done, I do know that both presentations need to be finished by the beginning of July and the rest of the stuff needs to be done for mid August for marking and then on to the assessors in September. Few lots to do. Also want to make time for the allotment etc.

I usually set out a simple schedule of works starting with the deadlines and work back to today.
I fit in all the milestones and get the order of stuff in the right place and then see where it says I need to be at now. I then work with the aim of hitting every target up til the deadline.

A whiteboard (or bit of paper or Excel) with a time line on it is nice and simple, and shows at a glance how much time there is for each task.

I'm having a random dinner, thanks to reductions at Waitrose. King Prawns and sweet chilli dipping sauce, sushi, a chicken and ham sandwich, and a rather small piece of lemon cake. £3.38 for the lot.

Just couldn't be bothered to cook....

Drinking chocolate milk at the moment, but will put the kettle on shortly...

A couple of things though...

They aren't really saluting the train though, are they. They're pointing their bums at it!

And I think the one with the flag was trying to kill it at the end....

I like they way it stopped with mouth open at one point to demand a treat though. I might adopt that tactic.

Just had a call from Mum to say my aunt died. She'd had Alzheimer's for a few years, so it's not unexpected, but it is sad. We weren't close - she and my uncle and cousin have lived in Kuwait and Canada all my life, so we'd only met a few times. Still, it's sad.

I have been asked if I would like to go and see the Olympic flame tomorrow as it goes through Worcester. Hmm. This means leaving the house well before six am, to drive to Worcester to park well away from the town then walk about mile and a half through/past various industrial estates to get to the centre. Then stand in a crowd, waiting for a person in a white tracksuit to carry a torch past. I am just not in the least tiniest teeniest small bit enthused by this prospect. Does anyone agree with me, or am I just being a boring sort of person? Am I missing something here?

Oh my favourite, shepherds pie......don't forget the brown sauce, buttered bread and a large cup of tea (ha ha no one has mentioned cake or biskits)

Me too Speicher, I'd only go if there were elephants, and even then I might be in two minds.

I need more . My dinner of odd things was quite salty.

I admit I would have been more excited seeing the elephants so close to the train at the Safari Park. I have said that I will not be taking up their very kind offer. I would hate to spoil the event for someone who thinks it is a wonderful idea.

Woo Hoo that was a the this year even boiling hot going down hill

I did 41mph going down the big hill from the top of the moors into otley, which is fast for me as I dont like going too fast downhill as potsy will no doubt tell you.
