Don't give him ideas!!!!!! :stop:

That's what worries me most. Forced to rest a lot, he'll start Having Ideas.
;)^_^

I'm envisaging coloured tape laid out on the floor for various routes, and a robot on the base of the chair following the tape whenever he says "Kettle!" or "Desk!"
At the moment it is more a case of phone downstairs to get Mum to come up to do something.^_^

My friend, who got me the lift earlier, came over a little while ago to see how I was. He brought me some Rich Alabama Chocolate Fudge Cake from Morrisons.
He will come back in the morning to help me clear a path along the hallway and stairs so I can get through safely without negotiating boxes and stuff.

I now have a :cuppa: to go with the cake.:hungry:

Sounds like a decent friend that :hungry:

Got as far as I can with the guard fettling, need a hacksaw to trim the stays, they are a bit too tough for my pliers.
Look at the time, better get some supper, not eaten for hours

Well, after a good long natter on the phone I can report that NT sounded moderately chipper. Keep your chin up!

Bedtime for me, although I'm enjoying watching the 1950's house on telly. I just found out that the Kenwood Chef was invented by a Mr Kenneth Wood. Makes sense all of a sudden!

Night all! :hello:

Are you still fit and healthy Doc?
If so you have no place in here

NT- Did I miss how you actually 'did'it'? Was it a weakness from earlier?

Healthy? Yes.
Fit? Somewhat...
I've got a bit of a sniffle if that's enough?
Failing that, there's just my sense of humour. That's sick all right.

I was walking up the stairs Wednesday evening, having popped down to the workshop to take a photo of a part I was working on. On the way up stairs, as I lifted my left foot up I heard a 'bang' like a paperback book landing with a slap on the floor. I also felt something 'hit' on the back of my calf. I stood for a moment on one leg as I looked around to see 'what fell' before I carried on and didn't see anything. Only when I tried to finish the step I started did I feel the lighting strike of pain in my calf.

It was, I guess, the final straw following a few weeks of hard work that included putting my cut up car on the trailer for the scrap yard, rebuilding a stone wall and lifting on the massive coping stones on top, shifting big logs for firewood and other heavy lifting and carrying tasks.

With hindsight I realised that I do all my heavy lifting left sided. All the weight is on my left hand, left shoulder and initially lifted by my left leg. I even set off on the bike with my left leg putting my right foot on the ground when I stop. I think that stemmed from learning to ride a bike with my left foot on the pedal and scooting along with my right foot.

This morning I woke stiff and aching. My sofa isn't long enough. It has a drop arm but I couldn't drop it as the leg of my loft bed, above, was in the way. So when I got up I decided to shove my sofa back a bit, pushing my desk back at the same time, so I could drop the sofa arm. It now gives me a bit more length to sleep on. It involved a bit of a tidy up and moving some other things like the sewing cabinet out the way and dismantelling (how does <---that spell check to televangelism?) my weights so they are put away.

I also had a brilliant idea.

I am going to decant my laundry liquid into another bottle and then cut the laundry liquid bottle in half. I can then use it as a 'toe cap' over the end of my cast to protect my toes from minor knocks and injury. I have already banged them a couple of times this morning.
Maybe I should have kept quiet about that and filed a patent for the idea! ^_^

Dad has brought up a smaller office chair for me to scoot around on. It should make life easier but it also has fixed arms on it so they may get in the way. I will try it later.
