How's Adelaide, Rikki? Is it getting warm?

As you've probably gathered from Potsy, its freezing here in the mornings.

The Adelaide Report.
We've just gone to daylight saving, with a lovely sunny skies and maximums of 20 to 24 during the last few days. Thunderstorms tomorrow, but then the forecast is for steadily improving temperatures to 27 on Sunday.

I had added pipe insulation grips to the under seat handle bars and a bit of elastic to the black plastic clip that keeps it folded.
It may need a few last minute tweaks to make sure it is smooth running.

I should be able to find some way of carrying the lighthouse with it when I deliver it on Thursday.

Time for a rest and a :cuppa: now.

I might go and give my hack bike a quick fettle and maybe change the rear wheel (easier then changing the worn rear cluster) so I can use it to get to my physio appointment in the morning. Don't fancy leaving Tiddles locked up outside the hospital.

With a lot of faffing and chopping and changing I finally found a good wheel that fits the back of Emily. It happens to be the one that came with the trike I got. It is an 8 speed instead of the worn 7 speed but all the gears do select on the friction shifter.

Her rear brakes took a bit of messing with to get working right, as they are knackered too, but it manages to lock the rear tyre so can't ask for better then that really. Her front brake is scary sharp!
Do you think she looks too bling with that red rim?:giggle:
She should be faster too!:bicycle:

I aired up her tyres and added a QR bolt to her seat post clamp. I then dropped her seat about 3/4" and that feels a bit more comfortable. Emily can really do with a full set of new cables and some undamaged bar grips. And also a more comfy saddle!

I also brought Granville out and gave him a quick going over. His chain was desperately in need of some lube and his tyres needed some air.
I thought about taking Granville tomorrow but his front wheel is a bit draggy and the brake not very effective. Rear seems fine. I think I will need to take the front drum apart and see if it is all free and aligned properly. That is a bigger job so for another day.

:cuppa: ?

Calling the oracle of knitting. I'm making the trotters for the cow. It asks with B yarn used double cast on 8 sts, k1 row. Do I cast on 8 stitches twice or knit double. Thank you Arch again.

I would think it means use the yarn doubled up - presumably the trotters (well, hooves) need to be bulkier than the rest of the leg. Make sure you've got enough - I'd wind a small ball of it off your big ball, and work with two strands at once. Just take care to pick up both strands on each stitch. You can always use any bit left over for sewing up.
