Just a brief incursion. I'm winding down after spending most of today painting shelves. I'll be happy if I never see a vat of white emulsion again.

I now have oodles of shelves and cupboards . I should finally be able to unpack properly after 7 months .

One place I rented, I didn't unpack until I'd moved to a different property, some 14 months later.

Just wondering if NT will have an interesting journey home, as there are reports of flooding on the A64. He was wondering about heading east instead, and getting a boat at the coast to circumnavigate the country...

Well, I'm back from the dentist having been tortured by the hygienist (does the Geneva Convention apply to dental surgeries?). I felt so faint when I left that I had to lie in my car for 20 minutes before I could drive home. I have booked my next appointment for 31 September........................

Its a good job you didnt need your wisdom teeth doing I may have heard the screams from here.

I am currently consuming a mince pie.

The Kindle saga continueth. I managed to download a version of Kindle, again. Then I could not "find" my downloaded book.
In fairness to Amazon, once I had asked for a refund because it had not downloaded, they very promptly gave me a refund. I then went to Abebooks to order a paper version, and inadvertently ordered the wrong book. I have now ordered the correct book from Amazon. This is what I should have done in the first place.
