Well, we're back, we spent a massive £3.50 on a tool box, a kitchen timer shaped like a teapot, and two model Landrovers. It was a fun place to poke around in, and not overpriced. I think we'll be back there.
We even wondered about renting a stand when we come to have a proper clearout. They are all just stalls and cabinets, and people pick up the things they want and pay on the way out like a supermarket, so you don't have to be there all the time, and it's fairly cheap to rent. There were a lot of stands that were selling just the sort of tat iconic items we might wish to dispose of.

Then we stopped at a different retail place on the way back, and had a cup of tea and some cake.:cuppa::hungry:
That sounds much more civilised than a car boot sale.

Not that I frequent car boot sales. I have been to two or possibly three. One of which I was only there to help someone who was down-sizing and moving house. I bought an Old Hall (brand new) tea pot for 20 pence I think. And, Potsy, that is twenty new pence, btw. ^_^

Car boot sales are fab too though. There's a great one on York Racecourse every Saturday from spring to autumn, and that one is often good for tools and stuff. We're hoping to get to more of them this year - last summer we were confined to Manchester a lot by NT's leg. It's cycleable from my place, although we have found ourselves buying rather more than we can carry.

Well, the cake worked well. Would have worked even better if when I placed the top half on the bottom half, I'd removed the greaseproof paper! Never mind, I spotted it before we tried to cut a slice and we peeled it off....

Then we went out again, to pick up some radiators NT had won on Ebay.

Now, :cuppa:

Now stop it, or everyone will avoid us.

Earlier today, Jayonabike introduced me to a new item of cycling gear I hadn't appreciated the importance of.
It had never occurred to me to take a hipflask on a ride before.
Especially one starting at 8 am...
I declined a nip before we started. Scotch for breakfast is a little hardcore for me!!
